Hello all! I love that you’re here, thanks for joining me.
Welcome to the 12th episode of A
Big Digital Hug. A Marketing Podcast for the modern entrepreneur who wants to take their business to that next level, for years, not just months to come. If you’d like a free consultation with us, we’d like to hear from you. You can find the scheduling link here.

On the podcast today, I continue the Branding Series by discussing Documenting Your Brand with Brand Standards.

Your brand is the face of your company. It dictates the public’s perception of it. You can learn more about branding in the first part of this series, Ep # 11 – Your Brand and Others Perception of It.

A Brand Standards Guide is a compilation of visual and written rules or standards that represent your brand.

These standards should be made into a company manual that cannot be manipulated but they should be accessible to the entire team. Make one person responsible for them, most likely your head of marketing or creative director.

The Brand Standards Guide should be referenced during the execution of each and every piece of marketing collateral and should be updated as your brand evolves.

Elements to include in your brand standards guide:

  1. Elevator pitch or brand statement
  2. Buyer Persona
  3. Tagline and Key Messages
  4. Logo(s) and usage guidelines
  5. Fonts and Usage Guidelines (headlines and subheads)
  6. Color Palette
  7. Brand Elements
  8. Ownership

In the next episode in this series, we will discuss, Brand management.

If you need help defining your brand or how to properly document or utilize your defined brand, I’d love to coach you. You can find out more here.

Thanks for listening. I love that you’re here!
